## Start with the registration country

A Turkish-plated vehicle and a foreign-plated vehicle leaving Türkiye need different insurance checks. Ask your existing insurer about the destination and every transit country. For Turkish plates, discuss the appropriate Green Card arrangements. For other plates, ask which issuer and product can cover that registration in the intended territory.

## Check departure and transit separately

Review any Turkish customs record and the conditions attached to the vehicle’s entry. Confirm departure procedures with the authorities if the owner or driver has changed, or if the vehicle will remain behind. Then make a separate checklist for visas, driving documents, road charges and border requirements in each onward country.

## Match cover to the complete trip

Do not buy a generic “Europe” description without checking its territorial list. Compare liability, own damage, assistance and travel cover separately. Keep policy dates aligned with outward and return travel, and allow time to resolve missing documentation. Ask for a route-specific review if your registration or itinerary falls outside standard products.
